Storage

Baby's tummy is smaller than you think, so often when preparing food the quantities you make will last for well over a week, maybe even a month.

Prepared food can be stored for up to 8 weeks in the freezer or 2 days in the fridge.

Whether storing in the fridge or freezer, food must always be allowed to cool throughly.

If storing in the freezer ice cube trays with lids or small plastic freezer pots can be used to freeze the food. Only use plastic for storage of baby's food. The freezer pots can also be used for fridge storage. Remember to label and date your pots and trays.

Baby's food can be defrosted by removing from freezer and left to stand until thawed. You can also gently heat in a saucepan or defrost in the microwave, remembering to stir food and test before serving.

Once defrosted Baby's food should never be refrozen or reheated.
