My name is Nicola Joseph, I am a Health Visitor, Paediatric Nurse and mother. All health visitors are qualified nurses or midwives, with additional degree level training in child health, health promotion and health education. I work exclusively in the community either for the NHS or privately, with the specific aim of promoting healthy lifestyles for all parents and their families. My private service was established in 2007 within the London and Essex area and is available to clients, groups, and child and family related companies.
I have worked with the Plum foundation for Plum baby, promoting healthy eating from the first stages of weaning and onwards until they ceased trading in the UK in 2014. I have also contributed to Mother and Baby magazine and to various other baby related companies including Nelsons teetha, NHS Choices, Bepanthen and Waterwipes.
I take a special interest in weaning and I run weaning advice groups to offer support and to continue to spread the message about healthy eating, I run a health visitor clinic in Loughton Essex, on the second Sunday of every month offering parents extra support at a time when there can be very limited or no health visitor support available.
I am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and I am a member of the Royal College of Nursing. I am passionate about the benefits of health visiting, and believe that with support you will feel in control of everything you do.
